Rite of Spirit

Rite of Spirit was originally released in the Japanese OCG set Magician's Force in 2003, later seeing a reprint in the English-language Dark Revelation Volume 1, released in 2005. This trap card was designed to provide specific support for the Gravekeeper's archetype, allowing players to Special Summon a Gravekeeper's monster from the graveyard. It reflects the tactical emphasis of the era, which prioritized graveyard recursion as a means to maintain board presence during long duels.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of the Gravekeeper's series, which draws heavily from Ancient Egyptian motifs and funerary imagery. The design team focused on creating synergy within the archetype, ensuring that the card functioned as a pivotal utility piece for players dedicated to control-style strategies. Upon its release in the Dark Revelation sets, it became a standard inclusion for players looking to bolster their graveyard-reliant decks, valued for its straightforward utility rather than high-tier competitive dominance.
