Root Water

Root Water was released in the Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon set, the inaugural Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG expansion launched in North America in 2002. As a common normal monster, it represents the foundational era of the game, designed to populate the early card pool with simple aquatic-themed creatures intended for basic gameplay mechanics and deck-building experiments during the game's introduction to Western markets.

The card artwork follows the distinctive aesthetic established by Kazuki Takahashi for the original manga and early anime. It depicts a surreal, plant-based aquatic entity, consistent with the thematic design choices of the initial sets that favored elemental archetypes. While it never achieved competitive relevance due to its low stats, it remains a nostalgic artifact for collectors documenting the complete original LOB set.
