Royal Keeper

Royal Keeper was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Dark Beginning 2 set, which was released to provide players with a curated collection of cards previously available in earlier expansion packs. This set served as a strategic reprint series, allowing newer players to access essential cards from the Pharonic Guardian and Magician's Force sets, helping to stabilize card availability and support the evolving competitive landscape of the mid-2000s.

The card features an effect-monster design that revolves around a flip-summon mechanic, allowing it to transition between defense and offense while forcing itself back into a face-down position. Its aesthetic follows the classic Egyptian-themed high-fantasy style established by Kazuki Takahashi for the franchise. While the card is a common rarity and saw limited use in top-tier tournament play, it remains a notable piece for collectors focusing on the Dark Beginning era, representing the mid-life growth phase of the game's original card pool.
