Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon

Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon was first introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Master of Pendulum Structure Deck, released in late 2015. The card represents a pivotal evolution in the series' mechanics, specifically showcasing the fusion of the Pendulum Summoning style with traditional Fusion Summoning. It was designed to serve as a boss monster for the deck's centerpiece strategy, utilizing the titular Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon as a fusion material to gain increased attacks and protection based on the level of the materials used.

The card was illustrated with a distinct aesthetic that aligns with the Arc-V era of the franchise, emphasizing a high-tech, draconic appearance consistent with the series' shifting artistic direction toward more complex mechanical designs. As a common rarity card in a structure deck, it was intended to provide accessible, high-utility options for players looking to explore the synergy between fusion and pendulum mechanics. It received moderate attention from competitive players for its ability to clear boards, though it remained largely a budget-friendly staple of the era.
