Sales Ban

Sales Ban was introduced in the Battle of Chaos booster set, released internationally in early 2022. As a Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game expansion, Battle of Chaos was designed to bolster themes from the Dark Magician archetype while introducing powerful utility cards intended to impact the competitive landscape. This specific spell card serves as a strategic disruption tool, allowing a player to declare a card name and prevent its effects or activation, reflecting a design philosophy focused on high-level meta control.

The card’s design aligns with the tactical complexity characteristic of the era, where players prioritize cards that can negate or neutralize specific opponent threats. As a Secret Rare, it features a distinct, intricate foil pattern that distinguishes it from common iterations of similar gameplay mechanics. Upon its release, it was noted by the competitive community for its unique ability to bypass certain protective effects, solidifying its place as a staple in side-deck strategies for tournament-level play.
