Samurai Cavalry of Reptier

Samurai Cavalry of Reptier was released as part of the Dimension of Chaos booster set in late 2015, specifically distributed as the promotional participation card for the set's Sneak Peek events. As a Level 4 earth-attribute pendulum monster, it was designed to introduce players to the evolving mechanics of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, reflecting the series' thematic pivot toward dinosaur-themed archetypes that combined traditional monster combat with the pendulum summon mechanic.

The artwork follows the characteristic high-fantasy aesthetic established by Konami’s internal design team for the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. By blending reptilian features with stylized feudal Japanese samurai armor, the illustration aims to create a distinct visual identity for the Reptier series. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional utility piece for duelists, valued primarily for its specific effect to destroy back-row spells and traps, which made it a standard inclusion for participants attending local tournament previews.
