Scapeghost

Scapeghost was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the 2016 set The Dark Illusion. As a Tuner monster, it provides a thematic and mechanical twist on the classic Scapegoat spell card, allowing players to generate a board presence of Sheep Tokens that serve both as defensive cover and as resources for Synchro Summoning. The design intentionally evokes the visual legacy of the original 2002 Scapegoat card, reimagining the iconic tokens as ghostly spirits to fit the newer undead-type support.

The 2017 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, which featured this common rarity reprint, was designed to consolidate popular cards from the previous year's major booster sets into a more accessible format for players. By the time this version was released, the card had found a niche role in rogue decks that prioritized token generation and graveyard manipulation. While it never became a staple of competitive tournament play, the design remains a point of interest for collectors who appreciate the card's clever integration of classic franchise aesthetics into modern mechanical playstyles.
