Scrap Orthros

Scrap Orthros was released in the 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion Extreme Victory. The card serves as a key component of the Scrap archetype, a collection of EARTH-attribute monsters primarily focused on self-destruction mechanics and graveyard recursion. Its design intent centers on facilitating rapid Synchro Summoning by allowing players to destroy a Scrap monster on the field to Special Summon it from the hand, thereby triggering the beneficial graveyard effects of other members in the set.

The card was illustrated with a distinct industrial aesthetic, characteristic of the Scrap series, which depicts mechanical creatures composed of salvaged machine parts. As a Secret Rare in the EXVC set, it became a chase card for competitive players during the era, noted for its utility in maintaining board momentum. Its reception among the player base was largely positive, as it provided a consistent tuner option that helped the Scrap deck compete effectively during the high-speed Synchro era of the game.
