Scrapstorm

Scrapstorm was originally released as part of the OTS Tournament Pack 9, a series of promotional booster packs distributed exclusively to official Konami tournament stores starting in 2018. Designed as a support card for the 'Scrap' archetype, it was crafted to provide players with a specific tactical advantage by allowing them to destroy a Scrap monster on the field to draw two cards and then send one from their hand to the graveyard. This design reflects the archetype's core identity, which relies on triggering the destruction effects of Scrap monsters to generate graveyard recursion and card advantage.

The card was illustrated with the technical and mechanical aesthetic characteristic of the Scrap theme, emphasizing the archetype's motif of salvaging and repurposing discarded machinery. Within the competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! landscape, the card was received as a functional, if niche, utility tool for Scrap-focused decks. As a common rarity print within the OTS set, it served as an accessible way for players to optimize their deck lists without the need for high-rarity variants, maintaining the focus on utility and engine consistency over collectibility.
