Sealing Ceremony of Suiton

The Sealing Ceremony of Suiton was released in the 2011 expansion set Photon Shockwave, which introduced a variety of new support cards for several archetypes during the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and 5D's era transition. As a common trap card, it was designed as a niche technical tool meant to disrupt graveyard-reliant strategies by banishing water monsters from an opponent's discard pile. This card reflects the era's focus on interactive graveyard control, providing a specific counter-measure that rewards players for understanding elemental attributes within the game's competitive meta.

The card's design follows the aesthetic established by the Konami design team, incorporating thematic elements consistent with traditional ninja-themed trap cards found throughout the franchise. The artwork captures a ritualistic moment, grounding the gameplay mechanic in the lore of the Hidden Leaf or shinobi-inspired motifs. Upon its introduction, the card was primarily received as a budget-friendly utility option, serving as a sideboard choice for players looking to suppress water-attribute decks without investing in higher-rarity alternatives.
