Shiranui Samuraisaga

Shiranui Samuraisaga was released in the 2016 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion Breakers of Shadow. The card belongs to the Shiranui archetype, a collection of Fire-attribute Zombie monsters rooted in Japanese folklore and aesthetic traditions. Introduced during the Arc-V era of the card game, these monsters focus on banishing and returning from the graveyard to trigger various effects, reflecting the thematic concept of spirits returning from the afterlife.

The design of the card captures the imagery of a spectral samurai warrior, consistent with the set's broader exploration of supernatural themes. As a common rarity Synchro monster, it was designed to be widely accessible to players building decks around the Shiranui engine. The artwork emphasizes a traditional warrior silhouette infused with ghostly energy, maintaining the consistent visual language established by the Shiranui aesthetic, which was generally well-received by players for its balance of thematic depth and utility in Synchro-focused strategies.
