Shiranui Squiresaga

Shiranui Squiresaga was introduced in the 2019 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion Savage Strike, which focused on expanding themes from the Hidden Summoners deck build pack. This card serves as a pivotal Synchro Monster for the Shiranui archetype, drawing heavily from Japanese folklore and the aesthetic of undead samurai spirits. It was designed to provide the deck with flexible utility, allowing players to banish Shiranui cards from the field or graveyard to trigger powerful removal effects, thereby reinforcing the archetype's core mechanic of synergy between the graveyard and the banished zone.

The artwork reflects the grim, spectral design language consistent with the Shiranui set, emphasizing the fusion of ghostly flames with traditional martial weaponry. As a common rarity card, it was distributed widely, making it highly accessible to players looking to build budget-friendly competitive decks. Upon its release, it was well-received by the community for its ability to provide much-needed versatility to the archetype, solidifying its place as a staple inclusion in Shiranui-themed strategies during the late VRAINS era of the game.
