Where it came from
Skyscraper 2 - Hero City was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Elemental Energy expansion in 2006. It serves as a narrative expansion of the original Skyscraper field spell, central to the Elemental HERO archetype famously utilized by Jaden Yuki in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series. The design intention was to provide a recovery mechanic that allowed players to revisit their graveyard, reflecting the series' focus on the resilience and cyclical nature of the protagonist's deck.
The version presented here, LCGX-EN097, was released in the 2011 Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years Mega Pack. This collection was curated to celebrate the GX era, featuring high-rarity reprints of iconic cards. The secret-rare printing of this card utilizes a distinct diagonal foil pattern characteristic of that era's high-end releases, designed to appeal to both competitive players looking to upgrade their aesthetics and fans commemorating the history of the Duel Academy story arc.
