Solemn Warning

Solemn Warning was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2010 as a powerful counter-trap card that fundamentally altered competitive play. Its design, which allows players to negate summons and card effects at the cost of two thousand life points, was created to provide a high-stakes defensive tool that could curb the speed of aggressive deck builds. The card quickly became a staple in tournament environments due to its versatility and ability to disrupt opponent strategies at critical moments.

The 2011 Collectible Tins release, specifically the Wave 2 version designated as CT08-EN015, served as a widespread reprint that made this essential competitive tool more accessible to the general player base. While the original release carried a high market value, the super-rare version from the 2011 tin retained the core artwork and mechanical functionality that defined the card's legacy. It is widely regarded as one of the most significant trap cards in the history of the game, representing a peak in functional card design.
