Solfachord Scale

Solfachord Scale was introduced in the 2021 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion set, Ancient Guardians. This set was designed to introduce the Solfachord archetype, a group of Fairy-type monsters themed around music theory and the solfège scale. The card serves as a thematic cornerstone for the archetype, acting as a support spell that enables the player to search for essential pieces of the deck to facilitate Pendulum Summoning.

The artistic direction for the Solfachord series was crafted to emphasize a bright, aesthetic-heavy visual identity that contrasts with the more aggressive designs often found in the game. By tying the mechanical function of adding cards to the hand to the concept of a musical scale, the designers aimed to reinforce the archetype's mechanical identity as a structured, rhythmic playstyle. It was received by the player base as a vital utility card necessary for the consistency of the Solfachord strategy.
