Soul Charge

Soul Charge was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2014 as part of the Dragons of Legend set. Its design, characterized by a powerful life-point-costing graveyard revival effect, was intended to provide players with a high-risk, high-reward strategy for swarming the field. The card quickly became a staple in competitive play, eventually leading to its restriction in official tournament formats due to its ability to facilitate complex combo plays.

The version from the Legendary Hero Decks, released in 2018, serves as a common reprint of the original design. This specific collection was curated to provide players with accessible versions of iconic cards that had previously been difficult to obtain or were tied to specific competitive archetypes. By including Soul Charge in this set, Konami allowed a broader player base to integrate the card's potent revival mechanic into their decks within the context of contemporary play styles.
