Where it came from
Special Schedule was released in August 2016 as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game set Dragons of Legend: Unleashed. This set was designed to bring cards previously featured in the various Yu-Gi-Oh! television series to the physical game, specifically drawing from the arcs focused on legendary dragons and ancient dueling relics. The card was introduced as an Ultra Rare, reflecting its status as a high-utility spell card for specific deck archetypes.
The card’s design serves as a specialized support tool for the Infinitrack and Trains deck archetypes, allowing players to bridge the gap between their graveyard and the field. Its artwork and mechanics were developed by Konami’s design team to mirror the industrial aesthetic of the Machine-type monsters it supports. Upon its release, it was well-received by competitive players who favored machine-based strategies, as it provided a critical recovery option that bolstered the consistency of high-level defensive and aggressive plays.
