Spirit of the Pot of Greed

The Spirit of the Pot of Greed was released as part of the Invasion of Chaos booster set, which debuted in the North American TCG market in 2004. This set is widely regarded by players and collectors as one of the most influential expansions in the game's history, introducing powerful archetypes and staples that defined the competitive landscape of the era. The card itself serves as a thematic companion to the infamous Pot of Greed, a spell card noted for its immense utility and iconic status within the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe.

The design of the card leans into the whimsical and often surreal aesthetic established by the game’s original artists. As an effect monster, it was designed to interact directly with the Pot of Greed spell card, allowing players to Special Summon it from their hand during the same turn the spell was activated. While it functions as a common rarity card, it remains a notable piece of memorabilia for those who appreciate the narrative connections woven into the game's card lore.
