Star Seraph Sage

Star Seraph Sage was introduced in the Judgment of the Light booster set, released in 2013 as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The set was designed to introduce the Star Seraph archetype, a series of light-attribute, fairy-type monsters focused on rank-four Xyz summoning mechanics. This particular card was intended to support the deck's strategy by facilitating swarming through its special summoning effect, though it ultimately saw limited competitive play compared to its more powerful archetypal counterparts.

The artwork for the Star Seraph series was developed by the creative team at Konami to evoke a celestial, angelic aesthetic that contrasts with the darker themes prevalent in other archetypes of the era. As a common rarity card, Sage was widely accessible to players building casual decks. Its design reflects the thematic focus on divine entities, a motif that remained a hallmark of the Star Seraph line throughout its various expansions.
