Subterror Behemoth Burrowing

Subterror Behemoth Burrowing was released in the 2016 expansion set Invasion: Vengeance, which introduced the Subterror archetype to the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. The set was designed to expand the competitive landscape by introducing flip-effect-based mechanics that emphasized board control and shifting between attack and defense positions. As a trap card, Burrowing serves a tactical utility role within the theme, allowing players to facilitate the summoning of powerful Subterror Behemoth monsters from the deck or graveyard.

The visual design of the card reflects the subterranean, earth-bound aesthetic characteristic of the Subterror lore, which centers on massive, subterranean creatures emerging to battle. Like many cards in the Invasion: Vengeance set, the artwork was developed by the Konami design team to emphasize the imposing, ancient nature of these entities. While it was not a centerpiece card for high-level competitive play, it remains a notable example of the support cards crafted to build internal synergy within the Subterror engine.
