Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi

Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi was released in early 2016 as part of the Breakers of Shadow booster set. It represents a key addition to the Superheavy Samurai archetype, a theme introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game based on the deck used by the character Gongenzaka in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime series. The design philosophy of the archetype centers on the unconventional strategy of utilizing machine-type monsters that function defensively while possessing the ability to attack while in defense position.

The card was designed to support this playstyle by allowing players to summon additional Superheavy Samurai monsters from the graveyard, reinforcing the theme's reliance on graveyard recursion and board presence. As a rare-tier card within the set, it was intended to be accessible to players building the deck while providing a functional utility piece for synchro-based strategies. Upon its release, the card was received as a solid mid-tier option for dedicated players of the archetype, appreciated for its specific synergy within the game's evolving mechanical landscape.
