Provenance

Where it came from

The Tricky was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the early 2000s, originally appearing in the Magician's Force booster set. Designed as a high-level effect monster with a self-summoning mechanic, it was intended to provide players with an efficient way to swarm the field or facilitate tribute summons by discarding a card from the hand as the cost for its special summon.

This particular printing comes from the Starter Deck: Yugi Reloaded, a product released to modernize the experience of playing with iconic cards associated with the series protagonist, Yugi Muto. The card retains its classic artwork featuring the chaotic jester, a design that leaned into the mischievous and unpredictable aesthetic common to early-era Spellcaster-type monsters. It remains a recognizable staple of Yugi-themed decks, appreciated for its simplicity and strategic utility.
