Tuner's Scheme

Tuner's Scheme was released in the 2010 expansion set Absolute Powerforce, a collection that heavily emphasized the Synchro Summoning mechanics introduced during the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's era. As a Normal Trap card, it was designed to reward players for proactively managing their Tuner monsters, allowing them to take control of an opponent's monster if a Tuner is present on the field. This fit the broader thematic focus of the set, which aimed to revitalize synergy between Tuner-heavy archetypes and the strategic use of high-impact trap cards.

The card features artwork consistent with the industrial and mechanical aesthetic prevalent in 5D's, focusing on the tactical manipulation of opposing forces. Within the competitive landscape of the time, the card was viewed primarily as a niche utility option. While it provided an interesting interaction for specific decks, it struggled to find a consistent place in the high-speed meta of the era, remaining a recognizable super-rare entry for collectors focused on completing the Absolute Powerforce set.
