Unchained Twins - Rakea

Unchained Twins - Rakea was released in the Magnificent Maestros set in late 2022, serving as a pivotal addition to the Unchained archetype. The card was designed to expand the playstyle of the Unchained theme, a group of Fiend-type monsters centered around self-destruction and graveyard recursion. Within the narrative context of the game, the Unchained are depicted as chaotic, demonic forces seeking to break their seals, and this card’s artwork reflects that aggressive, thematic identity.

The card’s design focuses on enabling rapid link summoning sequences, a hallmark of the archetype's competitive strategy. As an ultra-rare foil in the Magnificent Maestros box, it featured the high-end etching and reflective coating characteristic of its tier. Upon release, it was well-received by players for its utility in triggering the 'Unchained' destruction effects during the opponent's turn, solidifying its place as a staple in decks that utilize the engine for defensive disruption.
