Viper's Grudge

Viper's Grudge was released as part of the 2023 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG set Battles of Legend: Monstrous Revenge. This set was designed to bring a variety of highly anticipated cards and specialized reprints from the OCG to the Western market, specifically focusing on monsters and support cards with complex, thematic art styles. It serves as a utility trap card within the broader ecosystem of the game, created to provide players with specific defensive interactions that reward tactical timing during a duel.

The card's design features the signature high-contrast, detailed illustration style typical of the modern Konami design team, focusing on aggressive, serpentine imagery that aligns with the 'Viper' nomenclature. As an Ultra Rare, it holds a distinct physical finish, utilizing the glossy foil treatment that distinguishes this tier of rarity from the standard common or rare iterations within the set. It was received by the player base as a niche tech choice, appreciated more for its specific utility in controlled deck archetypes than as a centerpiece of the competitive meta.
