Where it came from
Witchcrafter Haine was introduced in the 2019 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion The Infinity Chasers, a set designed to introduce several new archetypes including the Witchcrafter theme. These cards focus on a group of spellcasters who rely on recycling spell cards from the graveyard, drawing heavily from classic fantasy aesthetics. The design team crafted the Witchcrafter monsters to blend magical motifs with artisanal, guild-like themes, positioning Haine as one of the central figures of the deck's lore.
The visual identity of Haine, illustrated to emphasize her role as a powerful spellcaster, was well-received by players for its intricate gothic-inspired attire and thematic cohesion with the rest of the set. As a Super Rare card, Haine became a staple for collectors and competitive players alike, representing the specific artistic direction of the late 2010s era of the game where character-driven archetypes became a primary focus for designers.
