Witchcrafter Madame Verre

Witchcrafter Madame Verre was released in the 2020 set Duel Overload, serving as a high-rarity centerpiece for the Witchcrafter archetype. This archetype, introduced in the Hidden Summoners booster, centers on a group of magical artisans who discard spell cards to trigger powerful effects and return them to the hand during the end phase. The design reflects a Victorian-gothic aesthetic, drawing inspiration from classic European folklore and magical academy motifs to distinguish the theme from the more traditional fantasy tropes present in the game.

The card was designed to function as the archetype's primary boss monster, utilizing a high-defense stat and an ability that scales based on the number of spell cards revealed in the player's hand. As an Ultra Rare print in Duel Overload, the artwork features a holographic finish that highlights the intricate details of the character's ornate attire and magical apparatus. It was generally well-received by players for its ability to provide both offensive utility and disruption, effectively stabilizing the control-oriented playstyle of the Witchcrafter deck.
