Zoroa, the Magistus Verethragna

Zoroa, the Magistus Verethragna was introduced in the 2024 release Battles of Legend: Monster Mayhem, a set designed to provide players with powerful reprints and new support for existing archetypes. This fusion monster serves as a key evolution for the Magistus theme, a series of cards rooted in fantasy lore that focuses on spellcaster-centric mechanics and the concept of magical apprenticeship. The design draws heavily from the overarching narrative of Zoroa, who is depicted as a central figure transitioning between roles throughout the Magistus storyline.

The card features the signature aesthetic of the Magistus set, characterized by intricate armor, arcane iconography, and a distinct magical color palette designed to stand out in a deck. As a Secret Rare, the card utilizes a specific holographic foil pattern that adds depth to the artwork. Upon its release, it was noted by the competitive community for its utility in simplifying fusion summoning requirements, reflecting a trend in modern card design that prioritizes consistency and ease of play within thematic archetypes.
