Where it came from
A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring, released in 2024, is an anime adaptation of the light novel series written by Shizuru Minazuki. Produced by studio EMT Squared, the series belongs to the widespread isekai subgenre, which focuses on protagonists transported to fantasy realms. This particular entry distinguishes itself by shifting the traditional adventure narrative toward the domestic responsibilities of a reluctant hero tasked with caring for two young magical twins.
The character designs and visual direction aim for a soft, approachable aesthetic that mirrors the story's gentle tone. By prioritizing the comedic and emotional dynamics of parenting over intense combat, the series positions itself as a slice-of-life variation within a genre often dominated by high-stakes action. Upon its release, it was noted for its focus on character development and the unconventional, nurturing progression of its protagonist in a fantasy setting.
