After the National Tournament, the Seidou High baseball team moves forward with uncertainty as the Fall season quickly approaches. In an attempt to build a stronger team centered around their new captain, fresh faces join the starting roster for the very first time. Previous losses weigh heavily on the minds of the veteran players as they continue their rigorous training, preparing for what will inevitably be their toughest season yet.
Rivals both new and old stand in their path as Seidou once again climbs their way toward the top, one game at a time. Needed now more than ever before, Furuya and Eijun must be determined to pitch with all their skill and strength in order to lead their team to victory. And this time, one of these young pitchers may finally claim that coveted title: "The Ace of Seidou."

Where it came from
Ace of the Diamond Second Season, released in 2015, serves as the direct continuation of the adaptation of Yuji Terajima’s acclaimed sports manga. Produced by Madhouse and Production I.G, the series maintains the intensity of the Seidou High School baseball team's pursuit of the Koshien tournament. It focuses on the evolving dynamics between the protagonist, Eijun Sawamura, and his rivals, deepening the narrative exploration of psychological pressure and athletic growth within the competitive Japanese high school baseball circuit.
The animation direction reflects the series' commitment to technical baseball accuracy and high-energy game sequences. By blending traditional sports anime tropes with a grounded approach to character development, the production team sought to emphasize the grueling nature of the sport. The second season was well-received by audiences for its steady pacing and the maturation of its ensemble cast, solidifying its place as a staple of the modern sports anime genre.
