A dog race is interrupted by a ringmaster, who attaches fish to the dog’s collars and makes them run in circles. The crowd is incensed, but the ringmaster insists that the audience is no better off than the dogs. In the end the ringmaster is assassinated and the race continues, but a single red rose sprouts from the ringmaster’s blood; a symbol of truth in a crazy world?

Where it came from
Anthropo-Cynical Farce was produced by the independent studio STARUPCC, emerging during a period of experimentation within the digital surrealist movement. The film was conceived as a biting critique of modern consumer culture, utilizing a disjointed, non-linear narrative structure to mirror the perceived absurdity of late-stage capitalism. Its aesthetic draws heavily from early 20th-century dadaism, updated with contemporary glitch-art techniques intended to unsettle the viewer.
The production sought to challenge traditional cinematic pacing by intentionally favoring jarring tonal shifts over cohesive storytelling. While the film has garnered a niche following among scholars of avant-garde media for its uncompromising vision, it received a polarized critical reception upon release. Critics often highlighted its technical audacity, though some noted that the film's aggressive cynicism occasionally obscured its underlying social commentary.
