AQUARION: Myth of Emotions

Aquarion: Myth of Emotions is a 2025 television series produced by the animation studio Satelight, continuing the long-running Aquarion franchise. Conceived as a modern entry in the storied mecha series, the production aims to evolve the franchise's core themes of emotional resonance and transcendental combat by integrating contemporary animation techniques with the high-concept storytelling that defined earlier iterations. It emerged as part of the studio's broader initiative to revitalize its intellectual properties for a new generation of viewers while maintaining narrative continuity with the original 2005 series.

The creative direction for this series focuses on the psychological depth of its pilots and the symbolic weight of the titular mecha, which serves as a centerpiece for the show's intricate mythology. The character and mecha designs aim to synthesize the bold, angular aesthetic typical of classic super robot anime with sleeker, more fluid mechanical designs intended to emphasize the fluidity of emotional expression. Critical and audience reception has centered on how successfully the series balances its ambitious lore with the character-driven drama that has become the hallmark of the Aquarion lineage.
