Assassins Pride was produced by studio EMT Squared and broadcast in 2019 as an adaptation of the light novel series written by Kei Amagi and illustrated by Nino Ninomoto. The narrative centers on a world where nobility possesses mana, following a young woman named Melida Angel who struggles to demonstrate her abilities and her assigned assassin-tutor, Kufa Vampir, who is tasked with mentoring her or, if necessary, eliminating her should her lack of talent be confirmed. The project emerged during a period of prolific light novel adaptations, aiming to blend high-fantasy tropes with a focused character study regarding social status and mentorship.

The production team sought to translate the intricate visual style of Ninomoto’s illustrations into an animated format, emphasizing the gothic and aristocratic aesthetic of the series' setting. Upon its release, the anime received a mixed reception from critics and viewers alike.
