Aware! Meisaku-kun: Ryuuguuchuu-hen

Aware! Meisaku-kun: Ryuuguuchuu-hen represents the tenth season of the long-running Japanese comedy anime series Aware! Meisaku-kun, which premiered in 2022. Produced by the studio Pie in the sky, the series follows the comedic adventures of Meisaku Matsuda and his classmates at the fairy tale-themed Ryuuguu Elementary School. This specific installment continues the show's signature rapid-fire dialogue and satirical deconstruction of classic Japanese folklore characters, maintaining the series' established aesthetic of minimalist animation and dry, observational humor.

The series was created and directed by Taketo Shinkai, who sought to blend traditional educational television tropes with a contemporary, cynical comedic sensibility. By centering the narrative on the mundane school life of legendary figures like Momotaro and Kintaro, Shinkai and his team successfully bridged the gap between children's programming and adult-oriented gag comedy. The series has been well-received for its consistent quality and its ability to reinvent its premise annually while retaining its core cast of eccentric student characters.
