Where it came from
Beyblade Burst Turbo, known in Japan as Beyblade Burst Chōzetsu, debuted in 2018 as the third season of the Beyblade Burst saga. Produced by OLM, the series was created to introduce the 'Turbo' generation of Beyblades, which incorporated metallic components into the tops to increase weight and impact power. The narrative shift focused on Aiger Akabane, a newcomer who travels from his rural home to challenge world champions, mirroring the real-world expansion of the toy line's competitive mechanics.
The series design reflected a move toward more aggressive, high-stakes combat, with the animation focusing on the 'burst' mechanic that had become the franchise's signature. OLM utilized dynamic camera angles and intense visual effects to emphasize the weight and speed of the new Turbo tops. Critics and audiences generally received the series as a natural, albeit more intense, progression of the Burst formula, cementing its role as a key bridge between the early Burst series and the later Superking iterations.
