Where it came from
Beyblade X is the fourth generation of the globally recognized spinning-top toy franchise, debuting as a multimedia project in 2023. Produced by TV Tokyo and developed by Takara Tomy, the series serves as a competitive reimagining of the classic battle concept, shifting the focus toward 'gear sports' that emphasize high-speed collisions and tactical arena play. The narrative follows protagonist Jaxon Cross as he climbs the ranks of the professional blading circuit, reflecting a deliberate pivot toward a more modern, sports-centric aesthetic.
The design of the Beyblade X series was spearheaded by the collaborative efforts of Takara Tomy, Tatsunoko Production, and OLM, with character concepts contributed by the manga duo Homura Kawamoto and Hikaru Muno. The creators aimed to capture the intensity of professional athletics, introducing the 'Xtreme Dash' gimmick that allows tops to lock into a central rail for accelerated movement. Upon its release, the series was received as a technical evolution of the hobby, praised for its faster pace and a design philosophy that prioritizes balanced competitive stability.
