Bingxue Zhi Yue

Bingxue Zhi Yue, or 'Moon of Ice and Snow', is an original net animation produced by the Chinese studio FENZ. Released as part of the studio’s efforts to expand the footprint of domestic 3D animation, the production utilizes stylized computer-generated imagery to explore themes rooted in traditional aesthetics and fantasy lore. It reflects the broader industry trend in China during the late 2010s toward high-fidelity, standalone visual narratives designed to appeal to both casual viewers and fans of the medium.

The visual direction for this project was spearheaded by the FENZ creative team, who aimed to synthesize fluid character movement with ethereal, atmospheric environments. By prioritizing a cinematic rendering style, the designers sought to elevate the production values beyond standard web-based fare. While the work received modest attention upon release, it remains a notable example of the studio's technical experimentation with digital texture and light mapping.
