Where it came from
Buppu na Mainichi was produced by Kachidoki Studio in 2017 as a short-form anime series tailored for television broadcast. The project emerged during a period when the studio was focusing on digestible, micro-format storytelling designed to integrate seamlessly into busy viewer schedules, often utilizing simple aesthetics to prioritize character-driven comedic vignettes.
The series centers on the daily experiences of a character named Buppu, leaning into the slice-of-life genre through a stylized, minimalist approach. While the animation style is intentionally rudimentary—a hallmark of many of Kachidoki Studio’s short-form outputs—it was conceived to evoke a sense of warmth and relatability. Critical reception was modest, primarily positioning the show as light entertainment for casual viewers seeking brief, observational humor.
