Calico Critters: Mini Episodes -Clover-

Released in 2019, the Calico Critters Mini Episodes were produced by Shogakukan Music & Digital Entertainment to revitalize the brand's presence in the digital landscape. These shorts were designed to expand the narrative world of the Sylvanian Families franchise, which originated in Japan in 1985. The goal was to provide a concise, accessible medium that showcased the daily lives and whimsical nature of the woodland creatures to a new generation of viewers.

The animation style was developed to reflect the cozy, pastoral aesthetic synonymous with the physical playsets. By focusing on themes of family and community, the series aimed to bridge the gap between traditional toy-based play and modern short-form digital media. The Clover episode, centering on the recurring character from the Cloverleaf Corners setting, was well-received by the existing collector community for maintaining the gentle, wholesome tone established by the original Epoch toy line.
