Rumi's met a lot of guys through her job, and it's probably fair to assume that most of them could be said to have some sort of problem, but a man who literally turns into a beast when he gets turned on may be outside of this perky call girl's field of expertise. Still, a little challenge every now and again stimulates the mind and makes life so much more interesting, so she's willing to give it a shot.

Where it came from
Call Me Tonight was released in 1986 as an original video animation (OVA) produced by the studio AIC. Arriving during the mid-eighties golden age of Japanese direct-to-video animation, the production was crafted to capitalize on the rising popularity of the OVA format, which allowed studios to experiment with more adult-oriented themes and stylized aesthetics that were not always suitable for television broadcast.
The animation features character designs by the prolific animator Toshihiro Kawamoto, who would later achieve significant acclaim for his work on Cowboy Bebop. His aesthetic for this title leaned into the bold, vibrant trends of the era, focusing on high-energy sequences and a distinct late-Showa era visual flair. While the project is often categorized as a niche title within the broader landscape of 1980s anime, it remains a notable example of the period's experimental approach to standalone storytelling.
