The third Captain Tsubasa movie is basically about a training match of the All Japan Boy Soccer Team, but most of the time you see flashbacks of former matches, for instance the final match Nankatsu vs. Toho or when Wakabayashi challenges team captains of different sports.

Where it came from
Released in 1986, Captain Tsubasa: Asu ni Mukatte Hashire! serves as the second theatrical film adaptation of Yoichi Takahashi’s seminal sports manga. Produced by Group TAC, the film arrived at the height of the original series' popularity, capitalising on the national fervour for association football that the franchise helped cultivate in Japan during the mid-1980s.
The film was designed to bridge the narrative gap between the series' televised arcs, focusing on Tsubasa Ozora's development as he prepares for international competition. Artistically, the production maintained the high-energy, exaggerated character designs and dynamic action sequences that defined the aesthetic of the 1983 television anime, reflecting the studio's commitment to visual consistency for the established fanbase.
