The first Captain Tsubasa movie is about a match between an "All Europe Boy Soccer Team" and an "All Japan Boy Soccer Team" and takes place at the end of the first TV series. When the Japanese team arrives in Europe they meet incredible players with skills and strength they never had to face before. Shortly after the beginning of the match the Tachibana brothers shoot a goal with their "acrobatic soccer", but the Europeans have a supreme organisation and their legendary captain Karl-Heinz Schneider from Germany seems to be undefeatable. For Wakashimazu is totally overcharged with Schneider, the injured goalkeeper genius Wakabayashi takes his place and manages to stop Schneider's "fire shots". After that Japan finally manages to win the match 3:2.

Where it came from
Released in 1985, Captain Tsubasa: Europe Daikessen serves as the first theatrical film in the iconic soccer franchise. Produced by Group TAC, the film was developed during the height of the original series' popularity to capitalize on the manga's transition to the silver screen. It follows Tsubasa Ozora and his teammates as they travel to Europe to compete against a formidable selection of international youth players, reflecting the growing cultural interest in global soccer competition within Japan during the mid-eighties.
The production sought to expand the scope of the television series by showcasing higher-stakes matches and more intricate character development in a condensed cinematic format. While the animation style remained consistent with the contemporary television adaptation, the film's creative team utilized the theatrical medium to emphasize the intensity of the sport through heightened action sequences. It is widely regarded as a significant piece of anime history, solidifying the franchise's influence on the sports genre by emphasizing teamwork and the persistent pursuit of athletic excellence.
