Where it came from
Case Closed: A Secret Order from London, also known as Detective Conan: A Secret Order from London, was released in 2011 as the eleventh original video animation (OVA) in the long-running mystery franchise. Produced by TMS Entertainment, the film was designed as a supplementary narrative to the main series, expanding the world of Gosho Aoyama’s iconic detective. It leans into the series' penchant for international travel, taking the cast to the United Kingdom to engage in a high-stakes mystery that mirrors the aesthetic and atmosphere of classic British detective fiction.
The production utilized the established character designs and animation style that have defined the TMS Entertainment tenure of the franchise since its inception. By focusing on the interplay between Conan Edogawa and his usual ensemble, the OVA was crafted to satisfy long-term fans who appreciate the balance of deductive reasoning and lighthearted action. It was received as a standard entry in the direct-to-video catalog, functioning as a standalone diversion that maintains the series' commitment to intricate plotting and character-driven subplots.
