Where it came from
ChroNoiR Episode.0 was released in 2023 as an original net animation designed to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the popular VTuber unit ChroNoiR, composed of Kuzuha and Kanae. The project was produced by A-1 Pictures to provide a narrative expansion of the lore established during the duo's long-running collaborations, effectively transitioning their virtual personas into a stylized, high-budget animation format.
The animation reflects a deliberate aesthetic shift from their usual 2D model streams to a cinematic, dark fantasy visual style. By commissioning A-1 Pictures, the management team aimed to elevate the brand's creative output, receiving generally positive feedback from the fanbase for its polished character designs and the successful adaptation of the performers' personalities into a cohesive, non-streamed story arc.
