Cooking with Valkyries 2

Cooking with Valkyries 2, released in 2020, is a spin-off ONA series produced by studio BLADE based on the popular mobile game Honkai Impact 3rd. It was developed to provide a lighter, slice-of-life perspective on the game's established characters, moving away from the dramatic, high-stakes narrative of the main series to focus on culinary themes and domestic interactions. This format was designed to capitalize on the franchise's character-driven appeal, offering fans a more relaxed and humorous look at the daily lives of the Valkyries.

The animation style and design direction were intended to evoke a cozy, approachable aesthetic, distinct from the intense action sequences typically found in the franchise's other media. By focusing on cooking and interpersonal dynamics, the series aimed to deepen the audience's emotional connection to the cast. Upon its release, it was received positively by the player base as a refreshing, character-focused interlude that served as a supplement to the broader lore and ongoing story arcs of the Honkai universe.
