Where it came from
The Entertainment District Arc serves as the second season of the ufotable-produced adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga. Following the massive success of the Mugen Train film, this installment was released in late 2021 and early 2022 to continue the journey of Tanjiro Kamado and his companions as they assist the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, in an undercover mission within the Yoshiwara pleasure district.
The production is widely recognized for its technical ambition, with ufotable utilizing a blend of high-fidelity digital animation and intricate 3D backgrounds to capture the atmospheric lighting and chaotic choreography of the series' combat sequences. The studio aimed to elevate the visual standard for television anime, a goal that was met with significant critical acclaim for its fluid character movement and the vibrant, neon-soaked aesthetic of the arc’s nocturnal setting.
