Where it came from
Duel Masters Cross Shock represents the sixth iteration of the long-running Duel Masters anime franchise, produced by Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions and aired throughout 2010. The series followed the established narrative formula of a trading card game-focused story, designed to cross-promote the physical card game’s evolving mechanics and new expansion sets during that period of the franchise's life cycle.
The animation style and character designs for this entry remained consistent with the aesthetic established by earlier seasons, prioritizing high-energy duel sequences and dramatic character growth. While the series served primarily as a marketing vehicle for the card game, it maintained a dedicated following among younger viewers who appreciated its blend of fantasy adventure and tactical card-battling strategies.
