Dumb Girls In Puberty!!!

Dumb Girls In Puberty!!! was released in 2018 by the studio Selfish, a boutique production house known for its contributions to the adult animation market. The title emerged during a period of experimentation within the OVA format, where independent creators focused on niche character archetypes to cater to specific subcultures within the medium. Its release reflects the stylistic trends of the late 2010s, prioritizing expressive, exaggerated character designs that lean into comedic tropes rather than traditional narrative complexity.

The creative direction behind the title aimed to subvert standard school-life tropes through the lens of absurdism and high-energy animation. While the production values were modest, the work is noted by collectors for its distinctive, vibrant color palette and the specific line-work associated with Selfish's house style. Reception was largely confined to the insular community of OVA enthusiasts, who cataloged the work as a standard example of 2018-era independent adult animation, valuing it primarily for its historical snapshot of the studio's technical output during that year.
