Escape from Tsuki No Uragawa ZOO

Escape from Tsuki No Uragawa ZOO is a niche Japanese interactive puzzle game, released as part of the broader trend of 'real escape games' that gained traction in Japan during the late 2000s and early 2010s. Developed by SCRAP, a company renowned for pioneering the escape room genre, this particular title was designed to translate the immersive experience of a locked-room challenge into a tabletop or digital-analog hybrid format. It reflects the company's commitment to narrative-driven logic puzzles, positioning the player within an absurdist story about an animal facility on the dark side of the moon.

The design aesthetic leans into the whimsical and slightly surreal tone characteristic of SCRAP's early portfolio. By blending illustrated storytelling with physical puzzle-solving, the creators aimed to evoke a sense of playfulness and intellectual curiosity. Upon its release, it was received as a creative entry point for fans of the burgeoning escape room subculture, praised primarily for its clever integration of narrative world-building with sequential deduction tasks rather than relying solely on abstract riddles.
