Eureka Seven AO: Aratanari Fukaki Ao

Eureka Seven AO: Aratanari Fukaki Ao, or 'The New Deep Blue,' was produced by studio BONES in 2012 as a web-distributed ONA episode. This installment serves as a bridge narrative within the broader Eureka Seven AO universe, intended to expand upon the complex timeline and character motivations that define the series' later episodes. BONES, known for their high-quality animation, utilized this format to provide deeper world-building and clarify elements of the storyline that required additional context beyond the standard television broadcast.

The production maintains the aesthetic identity of the Eureka Seven franchise, characterized by mechanical designs and a distinct color palette that fans of the original series expect. It was designed to address lingering questions regarding the character arcs within the AO timeline, offering a contemplative look at the narrative's themes of legacy and conflict. Upon its release, it was generally received by enthusiasts as a useful supplementary piece that enriched the viewing experience of the core series, reinforcing the studio's commitment to maintaining a cohesive, albeit dense, sci-fi world.
